EDM is slowly but steadily loosing all of its charm. That’s because people outside of it think this kind of music turns people into consuming a lot of alcohol and even drugs. Almost at every major festival we either hear reports of cops busting featival goers with a lot of drugs. Or worse, we see cases of deaths due to drug overdose. If you need these external factors to have a good time at a festival/party, you’re probably doing it wrong.

We the team of EDMLI consider EDM to be as big as our religion. We`re writing this because we want this defamation of the industry due to drugs and alcohol to stop.

“A recently conducted study says that in the last decade, there have been over 130 deaths due to drugs or alcohol at EDM festivals across the planet.”

We`re not trying to imply that one must not consume alcohol at all. If you’re old enough to drink, there’s no harm in having a few drinks. But then you have a social responsibility to ensure that you don’t put your life or somebody else’s life to risk by driving. Are we too ignorant to not value our lives at all? The introduction of Ola and Uber and other cab companies have made it so much more convenient to avoid drunk driving.

At a major festival in Pune this year, we met someone while getting out of the venue, the boy never made it back home. Got involved in an accident. We have also had a case of a death of a girl in Delhi due to drug overdose last year. The rise in such cases all over the world have been growing all the time.

We`re writing this blog to appeal to our fellow EDM lovers to value the kind of music they listen to and also value their lives. We`re all way too young to throw away our lives by being so careless. Most of us festival goers are too young to risk our lives like that. This article is an appeal to everyone to stay safe, enjoy every festival/party you attend but also be responsible citizens and stop consuming drugs or drive yourself home when you’re drunk.
