Drug abuse has sadly resulted in causing deaths at EDM festivals for a long time. The latest such case was at the Freedom Blast festival in Goa. A couple of deaths were reported at the festival allegedly caused by drugs. It is a shame that the youth of our country does not realise that substance abuse can claim their lives. Freedom blast is a psytrance festival which was hosted by the founder of VH1 Supersonic, Nikhil Chinappa. We know for a fact that neither him nor the festival promotes any of that.

Psytrance genre gained recognition because it takes you to a musical journey. A journey so deep that it could be  promoted as an alternative to drug consumption. Such cases jeopardise the EDM industry as a whole. This incident could lead to the closure of EDM festivals in Goa again since Sunburn and Supersonic were both disallowed to host their festivals in Goa last year.

We urge all our readers and all followers of EDM to not support drug consumption at festivals. We wish we do not get to witness such drug related incidents anywhere across the world.
