Days are passing through and Electric Castle is taking over Bontida, Cluj with its stunning line-up and crazy atmosphere. We wish we had the time for a daily article, but we must admit, the festival will never let you sleep. So many activities, so many great names, such as great food, such nice people to meet, just a unique experience. Something that’s hard to find.

DAY 3

Day 3 was the day when we decided to try different things around the festivals. First, we discovered the Lays corner, where we actually stayed like 3 hours for board games, Jenga, Table Tennis, water fight, potato sack race and so many other cool things to do.

Then we continued our adventure to the Main Stage. To the most expected headliner of the day, Florence + The Machine. Gathering in front of the scene, more than 50.000 people that find their path to the festival on the third day, Florence Welch became the lost princess of the castle. She asked everyone to keep their phones in their pockets and enjoy the present moment, look at the others, and thus to feel how they are connected to each other and live the show with her.

“Thank you, Romania, for this wonderful place, I’m very happy to be here”, Florence said during the concert

Moving to Hangar by BT we attended the most expected psychedelic band, Infected Mushroom. Some of the best-selling Israeli artists of all time. They brought the experience of those who have spent the last 20 years developing the psytrance style for new generations of youngsters, without affecting the audience that still admires them from the early 90s.

But let’s not forget the star of the night, Tommy Cash. After the Neversea, an Adi Minune song was heard on July 19 at Electric Castle, which sparked a scandal between the organizers of the Cluj festival, the Estonian artist who introduced the play to his show and his fans from the online environment.

If the participants of the Black Sea festival were then greeted with applause and cheers, even if they were humming the lyrics in the union, the reactions of the public at Bontida was divided. Besides those who were enthusiastic of the moment, there were also some who blasted him.

DAY 4

Loving challenges? Well… EC it’s the right place to be. From making tattoos, to spending nights at Booha Mansion till morning, taking pictures with strangers, make new friends, mosh pit at rock concerts, eating ice cream on the beach, being the king of ice ring…you just had all in one place.

Day 4 brought on the Main Stage names like Nils Frahm, Loredana, Subcarpati, and many others. But the one that got our attention was Bring Me The Horizon, they just simply got us at the point that we couldn’t take our ears from the Oli Sykes’s voice. Convincing so many people with their show, from all 51.000 people present at the festival, only one got the luck to sing with Oli.

After 3 years, The Mill stage, located in the old mill of Banffy field, reopened for a secret show. Getting there was easy, all you got to do was to venture to Talk to God at the special point of the festival, and to win an exclusive show by Kruder & Dorfmeister. Enthusiastic fans convinced them to offer an extra show in Hideout the same night.

DAY 5

If you were to be there we bet you wouldn’t miss a ride at the Electric Castle Wheel, so you could rise to the top of the festival saying hello to the artists from the main stage.

Last day to explore the 30 hectares of the festival. Last day to check the New Media Castle, Skating Ring or to discover new artists. We wanted to check them all. So we manage to get around the castle, the food court and we stopped at Hangar Stage where we catch Viagra Boys, a Swedish post-punk band from Stockholm and Tokimonsta, an American DJ nominated for a Grammy, actually the only Asian DJ nominated.

In between these two artists, the night was stolen at the Main Stage by Jared Leto and his brother Shannon Leto. The famous Thirty Seconds to Mars, who appeared on stage shortly before midnight, made us dance with all our hearts and sing along till the final close of the Main Stage.

“Everyone around the world is talking about this festival”, said Jared Leto to the Electric Castle public.

Over 231,000 participants and 250 artists that helped Electric Castle to make you feel that’s where you belong. Thank you, Electric Castle! Thank you for being amazing and for getting us into your home! See you next year!
