A full-length album from Martin Garrix has been long overdue ever since the Dutch wunderkind burst into the scene with his global dance hit Animals in 2013. Many rumors have floated around over the years anticipating an album from the producer, most notably in 2016 after the young globetrotter broke free from his controversial Spinnin’ Records contract and founded his own label ‘STMPD Records‘. Martin has himself fuelled the rumors many times in the past by going on record to state he has enough unreleased tracks to put out multiple albums. Yet, an EP compilation of 7 tracks (aptly titled ‘Seven‘ EP) is the closest thing he has released to an album.

Although Martin has never kept fans starving for music, as he has managed to keep steady abundance of singles – ranging from Pop chartbusters like ‘In The Name Of Love’, ‘Scared To Be Lonely’ to dancefloor favourites ‘High On Life’, ‘Pizza’, ‘Mistaken’ – just to name a few. In this day and age of streaming, an album is not a necessity for a musician to stay relevant. But that does not undermine the importance of an artist putting out their body of work through an album. Fans longing for Martin Garrix’s debut album can now get their hopes up as the 23-year-old has dropped what could be a first substantial hint leading up to the much-awaited album.

In an exclusive interview with MIKL show on French Radio station NRJ, Garrix revealed that he is indeed planning to come up with his debut album with the first single already out – Summer Days. He further says that his team might drop another couple of singles before unleashing the big project.

The three-time DJ Mag Top100 DJs winner chose the occasion of Amsterdam Dance Event for releasing his previous two EPs – Seven & BYLAW. We come to expect that the Dutch DJ might time the release of his debut album around the same time this year. Garrix fans can keep an eye on this space for all the future updates.
