I raved in ZODIAK last weekend! And ZODIAK is a rave place approved! I recently moved to the EU capital where I heard about that Techno club called ZODIAK in the heart of the touristic area of the city.
I heard about the club a long time ago and always thought that it was a touristic attraction until Lola Jones the ZODIAK resident sent me the event. I’ve seen her a few years ago in another underground club named “Barrio” where she performed a proper Techno gig. That was more than 2 years ago and there weren’t a lot of people. But the Techno was good and we all had a very nice rave.
In Brussels, I knew a few nice Techno clubs but had never have been to ZODIAK. Last weekend was my first time, and I wanted to go to hear Lola play again. In the very animated food street near the central station where there are also other normal clubs. At the entrance, security is very nice. Inside, I was surprised by the size and the lighting system of the main room. The club has 2 rooms, the second one on the third floor which is smaller. The second floor has a big balcony in the main room. The bathroom and lockers are free. the water costs only 1 euro. The entrance cost me 7€ before 1am, then 14€ after 1am.
When inside, the crowd wasn’t what I expected! A lot of locals and a few tourists who all knew what they were doing there. They were enjoying the proper Techno thrown all night by good artists, and Lola performed better than what I’ve seen a few years ago a proper underground Techno. Nice people, nice crew, talented artists and beautiful techno made my Friday night unforgettable.
However, like every place still, some little things to improve. The signs were missing Flemish language in a bilingual city, and in the future, I would recommend ZODIAK to update the sound system. But bravo for keeping a beautiful Techno place in the heart of the European capital! We always enjoy big festivals and huge clubs but there are places like ZODIAK where we might have the best raves ever.
