Zedd took to Twitter to share absolutely baffling news: he just got permanently banned in China! And the reason for him getting the ban is equally absurd – it’s because he liked a tweet from South Park. While Zedd hasn’t made it clear which tweet was it exactly that landed him in trouble, apparently it was the one where TV show South Park made a tongue in cheek apology following their 300th episode which had one of the characters saying: “F**k the Chinese government”.
I just got permanently banned from China because I liked a @SouthPark tweet.

South Park is a popular animated series that makes commentary on various current issues going on in the world in their own comedic ways. Their recent episode titled “Band in China” poked fun at China as well as industries in United States that censored themselves in order to be in good terms with Chinese Government. After the airing of that episode, South Park itself got banned in China. Show’s creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone then issued their ironical apology which might have triggered those in China even more and it was EDM star Zedd who found himself caught in the middle of this mess when he liked the tweet.

It is not clear whether the ban on Zedd will stay permanent or be lifted sometime in future. But it is certain that Zedd fans in China may not get to see their favorite DJ in the country anytime soon.
