Hello Yves, how are you doing amidst this pandemic situation?

Hey guys! I’ve been at home with my family in Belgium, it’s of course a crazy time for everyone and as DJs and producers our industry has really taken a hit in terms of the live sector and festival season being impacted. But, we are adapting! I’m super excited for Tomorrowland to host their first digital edition and I’ve been busy releasing new music – the show must go on!

Congratulations on your recent release “Home Now”, you just brought the 80’s vibes back! Could you share how did you work out this tune with Alida?

Thanks so much, glad you guys are enjoying it! I really wanted to merge something classic with something fresh, so to be able to add a new spin on Sash!’s classic ‘Ecuador’ was amazing and Alida really refreshed up the release – I love working with vocalists for a different spin away from my production ideas and she really killed it!

As the COVID-19 outbreak has affected the electronic music industry drastically, what do you miss the most?

Touring, without a doubt!

Virtual Festivals are becoming the new “normal”, what are your thoughts on it?

I think they’re a great way for fans to still experience something in the music that they love, just from the comfort of their own home! I’ve also seen a lot of drive-in events in Europe and the US popping up, safely, showing just how well we’ve adapted. Music always unites people no matter where they are in the world and with more of these events going digital, that can only be a positive thing.

You’re also set to perform at the first-ever digital edition of “Tomorrowland”, you’ve performed at Tomorrowland mainstage a number of times so what special effort are you gonna put for your “virtual” performance?

The digital event is going to be amazing and unlike anything the fans – or indeed most of the artists – have ever seen before. The crowning “location” this year will be Pāpiliōnem which feels so innovative and magical already. You may have seen recently that Tiesto is unveiling his new house alias for the first time at the event, Katy Perry will be doing a special set, it’s going to be so exciting and we’re only just revealing the tip of the iceberg…

What is next for Yves V?

I’m working on lots of new music and we’ve already had a crazy busy year with the release of ‘Not So Bad’ and now ‘Home Now’ which has been getting great support! I’m so thankful that my fans are still really enjoying and responding to my music with positivity and a sense of feel-good hope during these times.

Any special message for your fans?

Thank you for all your love and support, please stay safe out there and I hope we can all party together again soon!
