Ending 2020 on a highly groovy note is Mr. Oliver Heldens who has teamed up once again with the multi-talented vocalist Shungudzo to deliver this very uplifting track. Premiered first during Tomorrowland Around The World, this ID is finally OUT NOW on Oliver‘s new imprint OH2 Records.
Started out as a poem written by the Zimbabwean-American vocalist, Shungudzo who wrote it when the pandemic lockdown was announced. And it wasn’t long until Oliver took notice of her work and started to build this wonderful track around it.
Much like their previous collaborative hit, ‘Fire In My Soul‘ which passed over 100 million+ streams, their new collab is surely following the same route. Continuing the success from their previous track, Shungudzo once again brings her magical and engaging vocals giving this track a very warm and positive spirit. Furthermore, the uplifting vibe of this track is dialed up to an eleven when Oliver introduces some tribal influenced sounds and an energetic piano melody. When everything combined, this track strikes to be one of the most feel-good tracks of the year which we indeed needed.
Let’s hope Oliver Heldens and Shungudzo deliver plenty more tracks like this but until then enjoy this wonderful groovy track called ‘Freedom For My People‘.
