A Dutch rising star in the dance music scene, from Amsterdam in The Netherlands who has been recognized as “The Future of Dance” by 1001tracklists.com, yes we are talking about Laura van Dam.

Gracing stages of major festivals and venues worldwide like Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, A State of Trance Festival, Parookaville and Ushuaïa Ibiza to name a few. She has collaborated with industry giants like Armin van Buuren and Above & Beyond, supporting them in various global performances.

Just before her set at A State of Trance Festival 2025 in Rotterdam few weeks ago, we had a chance to chat with her.

So how is 2025 going so far for you?

I am doing good. Big shows are coming in, which I’m really excited for and many unreleased stuff are in the works.

Your take on Insomnia, How exactly that came up?

When I used to go by myself to the clubs and keep on listening, this is really a track with which you can connect with people, they know its melody being such a timeless classic. So initially I was also a bit scared to touch this, of course when I made the remix in the studio tested live then decided yes it’s time to release it finally.

We’ll go back in time, you came for the Indian tour in 2023 where you played at iconic cities like Mumbai, Bangalore. We were in Bangalore at that time. So how was your India tour ?

The Indian crowd is really into having a good time, people really enjoy the music.

They look up to you, connect with you and when you put your hands up, everyone is feeling that magical energy through music, loved being there in India and food was so good 🙂

What are your views on the current dance music scene?

Everybody is crazy active on social media these days, as a producer you need to show something that is interesting which causes the need to do things super fast because everyday there is so much new music getting released. If you have a good following and a good connection with your fans, then definitely it helps.

Being a female artist, any challenges you encountered in the dance music industry?

People do respect the things of other producers, agreement or disagreement on any matter is purely based on consent of those two. Till date I have not faced any major things especially when it comes to as a Female artist.

Everyone is chasing their own dreams, I as a person let everyone do their thing and I believe if everyone believes the same then we can contribute more to our music industry.

Any suggestions or advice for upcoming producers?

I think it’s very important that one shall believe in self, connect with other artists on their booking agencies and record labels. You need to show that you really love doing it and making music from the heart. Don’t make music that people think they’re gonna like, do it because you like it.
