Dutch producer, known for his ability to bridge progressive house, melodic techno, and club-driven energy, has spent years refining his sounds. His journey, from early releases on Anjunabeats, and Armada to cementing his homestay with Colorize, has been one of evolution, both in sound and purpose, yes we are of course talking about Steven Baan better known as Estiva.
With release of Embrace (Estiva’s brand new album) which showcases his most personal and dynamic body of work to date, the album Embrace is a culmination of that process, shaped by his experiences on the road, long hours in the studio, and a desire to create something that resonates beyond the dancefloor.
The album opens with its title track, originally written as a standalone piece but naturally evolving into the project’s defining statement. It sets the tone with its dreamy flow, using AI-enhanced vocals to add a hypnotic & meditative edge. From there, it unfolds through tracks like Shores, a product of a writing camp experience, and All Night, which shifts the mood with a playful, bouncing bassline. Parlez-Vous leans into spontaneity, built around Estiva’s own processed vocals, while Little Love draws on his love for the atmospheric sound of Tiësto’s In Search of Sunrise series. KFIL, a track that sat unreleased for years before finding its moment now, and Lonely Keys, designed purely for the club, highlights his ability to craft high-energy, groove-driven cuts. As the album progresses, the deeper, more emotional side emerges in Satellite, where vocals take center stage, and Feel Alive and E.T. Dust, which channels the trance influences that first shaped Estiva’s career. Closing with No Echoes, a stripped-back, ambient-leaning moment, Embrace leaves listeners suspended in reflection, completing in a state of dreamlike.
With the album’s release, Estiva is celebrating in a way that embodies its spirit bringing Embrace to life with a performance on the canals of Amsterdam during King’s Day. A moving set in every sense, this intimate showcase will capture the essence of the album, surrounded by the city’s vibrant atmosphere.
