After years of creative momentum, the Irish producer Ciaran McAuely found himself questioning both his artistic direction and his connection to music. Rather than forcing progress, he chose to pause, reflect, and rebuild from within. That decision became the foundation of this album.
Following 2022’s Permission To Exhale, Finding Me is his most candid work to date. The project sees McAuley joined by a distinguished circle of collaborators, including Paul van Dyk, Roger Shah, Ferry Tayle, and Sean Tyas, alongside vocal talents such as Zara Taylor, Christian Burns, Sue McLaren, Clara Yates, and Deirdre McLaughlin.

Songs like “Alone” and “Runaway” reflect a period of creative disconnection, during which McAuley even set aside completed material to start afresh. “Why Do We Hide” explores vulnerability, while “The Road Less Travelled” highlights authenticity over expectation. The title track, created with Zara Taylor, captures the emotional heart of the record.
The writing process was deeply personal where instead of fixed concepts, McAuley and his collaborators shared experiences that naturally shaped the lyrics. That openness fuels affirming cuts like “Finding You”, “You’re Enough”, and “Not Letting You Go”. A standout moment comes with “When I Found You”, reuniting McAuley with Paul van Dyk in a powerful instrumental collaboration.
