The world of the live music industry has been shook since the attack in Manchester earlier this week. ISIS have now gone on to release another video naming Las Vegas as their next target. This is the second time in two years that Vegas has been mentioned as a target in a terrorist video. Last year there was an attack in Orlando at the Pulse nightclub.
Considering how they`ve targeted music related venues, its sort of obvious to think that the Electric Daisy Carnival could be targeted. Live nation has enacted enhanced security protocols at all of their events, which include EDC & Insomniac events. Lawmakers have also made it mandatory to levy a `more cops tax` which could add upto 60 more police officers to patrol the Las Vegas Strip.
Christopher Darcy, head of Southern Nevada Counter Terrorism Center was quoted saying, “Las Vegas continues to be an event destination- one of the world`s greatest event destinations. We have to continue to maintain safety and create new ways to ensure the safety of the folks that are attending these events.”
