Ankur Tewari returns with “1:15 AM (After Hours)” the very first single to come from his upcoming album Mr. Faarigh, which will be released on June 12, 2026. Tewari describes this record as his “most personal” work to date. This album will address our proclivity for procrastination and perfectionism, as well as reflect on how we feel about what we haven’t accomplished and how we allow our fears and outside influences to prevent us from taking that first step. “1:15 AM (After Hours)” takes place in Bandra on a night out when people are doing their everyday things around the city; getting prepped with friends, wandering Hill Rd. and Linking Rd., gathering together on rooftops, being entertained by music, and attending after parties. The song captures the feeling of comfort that comes from sharing your experience with others, and how this temporary release from the noise of the outside world will create silence / relief from any internal fears.
Speaking about the track, Tewari says it is about “the noise we surround ourselves with when we don’t want to sit alone with our thoughts.” The single serves as the opening chapter of Mr. Faarigh, a project inspired by a word that can mean idle, free, unhurried, unfinished, or at leisure. Across the album, Tewari reframes these states not as weaknesses, but as deeply human experiences that deserve understanding rather than judgment.
Over a career spanning more than two decades, Tewari has worked as a songwriter, lyricist, composer, music supervisor, and curator, contributing to acclaimed projects including Gully Boy, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, The Archies, Gehraiyaan, Made in Heaven, and Coke Studio Bharat. With “1:15 AM (After Hours),” he introduces listeners to the world of Mr. Faarigh, offering a reflective and relatable portrait of the nights we hold onto a little longer because they make the inside of our heads feel quieter.
