One of India’s most popular EDM acts, Zaeden, has called it quits on his career as a DJ. But Zaeden fans need not be too disappointed as this is not the end of his musical journey, as he calls it. The 24-year-old heartthrob will be launching his very own live set and dabble into Hindi pop. In a series of Instagram posts, Zaeden made it official what he had been teasing for the past few months.

Zaeden, real name Sahil Sharma, started his DJing career at 14. But it was only until he turned 18 when he got his big break after then #1 DJ Hardwell played Zaeden’s remix of a Coldplay track on Hardwell On Air podcast. Sahil became the first Indian to be featured on Hardwell On Air and also went on to become first in the country to get signed on Spinnin Records. His most notable releases were ‘Yesterday’ with Borgeous, ‘City Of The Lonely Hearts’ and ‘Something Like’ with Yves V. He first showcased his singing talent with covers for international artists Lauv, Ed Sheeran, James Arthur, Zayn, Troye Sivan; now the Delhi based music producer is going all out by promising to release new original music with his own vocals.

Talking about his future path, Zaeden had stated:

“I have seen myself grow so much as an artiste. I quit academics to be a full-time artiste, and it has been the best decision of my life! I have seen ups and lows, had my share of disappointment but it only pushes me to do better. The best change that has happened to me as an artiste is me exploring myself as a singer. This year I will be debuting myself as a live performing singer and I am very excited about it. This year will be a major turning point in my career. I am debuting myself as recording and performing singer and setting up the best live set up that nobody in India has experienced. In addition to this, I am also dropping my first full-fledged single as a singer as a Hindi debut.”

Zaeden signed off his DJing career on a high with his last two performances at Ushuaia Ibiza and Tomorrowland with Lost Stories. Though Zaeden’s soothing melodic production will surely be missed, fans can get excited to hear Zaeden’s new music which will have him singing on it. His next single is rumored to be released on Universal Music India’s wing for independent Indian musicians ‘VYRL Originals‘ and is already creating quite a buzz among fans.
