It was an amazing Sunburn Arena Tour with KYGO ended up last week. Kygo dropped some of his productions and Punjabi beats on his India tour and the fans were just amazed listening to that. Kygo has to end up with just a 2 city tour Hyderabad and Mumbai. Team EDMLI could able to catch up Kygo for a small talk interview where we discussed his latest album, his upcoming collaborations and more. check out what he has replied to our questions.
EDMLI: Tell us more about ‘Kids in Love’. The inspiration behind the album and how was the experience working with a wide variety of artists this time?
Kygo: Well to me, being a kid in love is the concept of being super passionate about someone or something. And I’ve been super passionate about playing the piano since I was 6 years old and whenever I make a song or melody that I really like, I feel like a kid in love. And to answer the second part of your question, we’re in a really developed time now where everything is accessible online. So like, I get a lot of demo’s sent my way from my label or my manager. So that way it’s easy for me to work on a demo that I like and send it to another artist and they can do their bit. So it’s much more efficient to collaborate with others and you don’t necessarily have to be in the studio together. It’s hard to schedule that these days with everyone’s touring dates. For me personally, whenever I get free time I’m making music, whatever demos I like I start working on them.
EDMLI: You’ve worked with big names in the industry like Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding, One Republic. Anyone else you’re planning on working with, in the future?
Kygo: I have some exciting things that I’m working on but I can’t really say anything about it cause it’s not 100% confirmed yet. But all I can say it’s some really cool ideas that I’m working on with some artists and I’m very excited about it. So hopefully we’ll make that happen. But yeah, there’s definitely new music coming out real soon.
EDMLI: Can we expect a collaboration from Alan Walker and Kygo real soon?
Kygo: Yeah, maybe! He lives like 5 mins away from my house back in Norway. So hopefully we’ll be able to make a track together soon.
