Looks like Ultra and China haven’t gotten on a good start. After the Beijing edition of the festival was shifted to clubs instead of festival ground, similar things happened with its Shanghai edition. It seems like the Chinese permitting laws are too hard for Ultra to understand,and there’s no hint of Chinese government making it easy.
The rumors of Shanghai cancellation already started surfacing a month ago on Weibo. Even the lineup wasn’t announced with the festival approaching. Now, just before 1 week of the scheduled festival dates, Ultra has released a statement that the festival will be changed to club takeover and the ticket holders will get a refund in the next 10 days and they can decide which clubs they wanna visit.
Even the schedule and the lineup of the club takeover hasn’t been announced. Ultra ended the note updating the fans that Ultra Beijing will take place on 15th and 16th of September.
