Aiden Morgan better known by his stage name DNMO is already making serious waves in the discerning dance music community. At an age of 17 years, he found a home at Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats label, where he has released several tracks. DNMO’s sophisticated sound holds its foundation in soulful melodies with electronic vibes, while still keeping an organic touch through the use of live instruments. In 2018, he made his U.S. debut at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre, making him the youngest electronic artist to ever play at the iconic venue, which he quickly followed up with festival debuts at Electric Zoo and HARD Day of The Dead. In his first few months of touring, he performed at venues such as Ministry of Sound, Aragon Ballroom, and Exchange. He wrapped up 2018 by touring with Ghastly and Ookay throughout the United States. DNMO has set incredibly high stakes at an early place in his career, and he’s not going anywhere but up!

We got an amazing opportunity to chat with the young prodigy, check it out!

1. You recently dropped your 4 track EP “Definition Forbidden” EP, tell us a bit about the process behind it?

DNMO: Definition Forbidden is the product of around a years worth of work. It’s really special to me because I started it while I was still a bedroom producer in school, and finished it after an intense 6 months of touring and music becoming my job. Spending so much time on those 4 records taught me a lot about myself as a person and as a musician too, I’ve really grown a lot from it.

2. How would you describe your relationship with ZEDS DEAD & how they played an important role in your musical journey?

DNMO: ZD are some of the best dudes I’ve come across. They’ve been a huge inspiration of mine for years so to think we have a song together and getting to work with them for as long as we have is just mind-blowing to me.

3. Last year, you performed at day 1 of Deadrocks at the iconic venue of Red Rocks. How was the experience?

DNMO: That show was awesome, it was like my third ever show which was super nerve racking but such an experience. It was a big eye opener on how hard I have to work to get to the next few levels.

4. How would you describe your music?

DNMO: I wanna say indie electronic meets bass meets pop music. Honestly, I don’t even know anymore. The stuff I’m working on right now is so different to anything I’ve released before even. I’m just having fun writing music with no limits or rules.

5. As you grew up in the U.K, are there any specific U.K based acts which influenced and how?

DNMO: Oh absolutely. Foals, Fred V & Grafix, Wilkinson, Mura Masa… so many.

6. Can you share the story behind your eclectic collaboration called ‘Sakura’ alongside KRANE?

DNMO: Yeah so I actually sent him the initial idea because I saw he had just opened up the sessions collab project he was doing, he hit me back saying he wants to work on it and we finished it up from there.

7. What is your advice to all the aspiring DJ/Producers out there?

DNMO: No amount of money or connections will make you a better producer. It really boils down to putting in the hours, having fun and believing in yourself. Don’t stress or think too much on what you’re doing just as long as you enjoy it. Also, f*%k rules.

8. Any special message to the electronic music community & your fans in INDIA?

DNMO: I love and appreciate every one of you and I’m really keen to get over to India asap – it’s always been on the bucket list!
