Dutch youngster Jimmy Clash has established himself as one of the most promising talents in today’s Dance music industry. A 23 years old driven DJ and Producer, trying hard to make a difference, determined to reach the top of the stairs.  His first steps into the worldwide Dance community were at the age of 13. He started producing music while developing his own recognizable progressive and electro house sound.

Collaborating with acclaimed artists like KURA, Tony Junior, Wolfpack, Juicy M and Ralvero, in 2016 Jimmy marked another milestone with a streak of hard-hitting bangers like ‘Rowcraft’ on Armada Music with 4 million plays and ‘Walk Away’ on Musical Freedom with 7 million plays on Spotify, followed by his biggest hit so far titled ‘Brutal’ on Revealed Recordings in 2017, massively supported by Hardwell and David Guetta. Jimmy’s energy and enthusiasm behind the decks took him around the world playing at many outdoor festivals and leading parties, from Ibiza to Japan and many places in-between. He recently debuted on Nicky Romero’s label Protocol Recordings with a massive collaboration alongside Kill The Buzz called  ‘Never Wanna Let You Go’

We got an amazing opportunity to have a chat with the Dutch young gun, check it out!

1.Hey Jimmy, how you doing?

JC: Hi! Doing really well. It’s Amsterdam Dance Event in Holland this week, so enjoying that to the fullest. Amsterdam Dance Event is always an exciting time. All the artists are showcasing their latest music and so do I. I have a lot of songs finished to finally present during the live sets I’m doing here.

2. You recently dropped a smashing collaboration called “Never Wanna Let You Go”, can you share a bit about it.

JC: ”Never Wanna Let You Go” is my latest song. It’s a collaboration I did with Dutch DJ/Producer Kill the Buzz. It’s released on Protocol Recordings (the record label of Nicky Romero). I’m very proud of the song, I’d say it’s my most musical/melodic track so far. The song is about a guy (the singer) who is in love with a girl. Very emotional, but really energetic. You should definitely check it out!

3. Over the years, you have been dropping a number of hit tunes on prolific labels such as Armada, Revealed, Spinnin’, Musical Freedom & more. How does it feel to put out your own work on such big imprints?

JC: It’s a very big honor to have released all these big record labels. When I started producing music at the age of 13 I could have never imagined releasing on such huge labels. Of course, it’s what I always aspired to! This is proof that if you work hard enough, you will eventually achieve your goals. Just believe in yourself and work for it every day. Spend all your free time producing music, and practice endlessly.

4. You have collaborated with so many talented names & top guns of the industry, how do you guys culminate your own ideas to deliver a top-notch tune?

JC: It depends on the artist. If the artist lives nearby it’s easy to do a studio session together to finish up the song. But if an artist lives abroad it’s also very easy nowadays to send over the project. Working in the studio together is much more fun and faster, I agree. But if there’s good communication going on – finishing a project through the internet can also work out really well. My latest collaborations are examples of that. Just sending projects back and forth until the song is finished and ready to get released.

5. What’s the best thing about being an EDM DJ/Producer?

JC: I really like the current EDM scene. When I started as producer there weren’t many subgenres. Nowadays there are dozens of subgenres, for example, big room, progressive house, electro house, bass house, future house and so on. Endless creativity. I also love to take influences from old disco songs and put that in my tracks every now and then.

6. What’s the craziest thing you have ever experienced at any of your performances across the globe?

JC: First of all, let me say that from all the countries I’ve visited Japan is my favorite so far! The dedication of the fans there is so amazing. When I performed at Ultra Japan last year there were 2 fans who brought a flag and a board with my name and picture on it. They brought it to the festival especially for me. Moments like that are unforgettable.

7. In this current scenario of the electronic music industry, what are the essential things for a DJ/Producer to stand out of the crowd & showcase his work?

JC: In every track, I put out there must be something recognizable. The listener immediately has to notice it’s a ‘Jimmy Clash’ song. Which is sometimes hard, when you produce multiple subgenres, but in the end, it’s the little details that make the record label notice your music.

8. As you have a big fanbase in India, do you have any special message for them?

JC: Unfortunately, I’ve never been to your beautiful country, but my agency is working hard to make it happen. I have a strong feeling that I will tour in India very soon. My song Jimmy Clash – Brutal (Vox VIP Mix) has an Indian vocal in the break, to show my love and appreciation for your country. I hope we meet very soon!
