Following a slew of critically acclaimed releases on a number of major labels over the past six months, the ever-prolific Simina Grigoriu continues her fine run of form well into 2020 her eagerly awaited Broken Royals / Fallen Guards EP. This release also marks her debut on Pig&Dan’s internationally revered imprint ELEVATE.
Simina’s two-part EP is another masterclass in immersive, forward-thinking techno from an artist who is quickly making a name for herself as one of the most promising talents on the underground techno circuit. Kick-starting the double-sided cut with ‘Broken Royals’, Simina goes full throttle from the off, delivering an uncompromising blend of driving kicks, ethereal synths and exquisitely layered drum samples to devastating effect.
On the flip, the Berlin-based talent demonstrates her distinctive production versatility with the darker ‘Fallen Guards’, building a relentless assortment of growling basslines and frenetic percussion, to close out the EP in emphatic fashion.
