With the lockdown playing a major part in affecting the world’s economy, businesses, travel restrictions, and tons of other areas, it has severely hit the dance music industry in numerous ways too. People in the industry from artists to event managers are surely undergoing a lot of pressure and have experienced extreme hardship in the past few months. And it’s not easy to deal with a situation like this as we’ve never faced anything like this ever before. Also, to make things difficult the pandemic situation is very hard to predict and no one can say for sure as to when things will get back to normal.

Many shows, festivals, and events have been canceled all over the world and things don’t exactly look very promising for the music industry. As we know most of the artists, performers, and other people working in this field depend mostly on live shows as their main source of income. This is the most crucial and painful part of the entire situation. And according to many researchers, we can only have concerts and other large crowded events only if we’re able to find a vaccination for the virus.

For us festival-goers, 2020 is probably one of the worst years that we’ve ever seen. Be it not being able to watch your favorite artists perform or having your long-planned trip to a festival getting canceled, it’s all very painful and unfortunate. This could also be the year where we had almost no live music festivals which will have caused a massive loss to the industry.

With the vaccination in initial trial phases in many countries, we must follow the ‘Social Distancing’ method until then very stricTly and avoid direct contact with people as much as possible. But staying locked-in is not necessarily a bad thing. Thanks to the internet and the power of social media, we’re all still connected in wonderful new ways. The lockdown has also shown us a new perspective at looking at various fields in a new and unique direction. Things like online classes, meetings, events, and also virtual music festivals are going to be booming in the next few years and we can also expect a lot of technological advances and products in these areas which will, in turn, make our experiences much easier.

Continuing a little more on the goodness of the technological aspects, the dance music world is still moving. It is, of course, a bit slower than usual but that’s not stopping all the artists from releasing their tracks online. Plus, the number of online mixes and DJ sets has been increasing tremendously which truly gives us reason to look forward to every day. And because of these online sets, fans are still able to listen to new tracks and IDs from their favorites artists at the comfort of their homes! We’re truly blessed even though we’re facing a worldwide crisis.

The Australian DJ/Producer, Timmy Trumpet found a way to connect with his fans by including them in the music video of his latest release ‘Diamonds’ making it ‘The world’s first music video filmed in isolation’. Take a look at our full article on this new release right here

The only thing that will get us through these tough times is to stay hopeful and trust our heroes in the medical field to pull us out from this unfortunate mess. With that being said, spend your time wisely, do stay connected to your friends, family, and your beloved artists on social media and make sure to tune in for their live sets whenever possible.

STAY HOME, STAY SAFE.
