Musicians may create magic when they collaborate. Since JulEYE, Denver’s hottest trip-hop duo, is breaking genre boundaries with their unique sound.

Since JulEYE, led by DJ/producer Lev Averbakh, recently acquired keyboardist Todd Stoops (RAQ, Kung-Fu). This new creative alliance has resulted in a vivid mix of Averbakh’s exuberant hip-hop production and Stoops‘ jam band sensibility, which has led to concerts at Summer Camp Music Festival, Gem & Jam, Color Field, and Wavespell, where they’ve shown their energetic live shows.
Since JulEYE announced their debut album, The Dawn Of Since, which will exhibit their musical tastes.
On The Scene the album’s first single, features Lettuce trumpeter Eric “Benny” Bloom and is hazy and laid-back. Averbakh and Stoops‘ debut single, On The Scene shows how their styles blended.
On The Scene is a head-bopping music with boom-bap beats, groovy keyboards, and organic trumpet. Percussion and a lo-fi organ sample start the song, which builds and drops into deep, trunk-rattling bass. Stoops‘ keyboard skills blend with Blooms‘ exquisite trumpet riffs and appealing, pitched-down vocals. Bloom ends On The Scene with a dramatic solo.

The video for On The Scene features Microdose VR, a real-time virtual experience that combines art, music, and dancing. Lightbrush, a developer and collaborator at Microdose VR, created the surreal, colorful 3D film to complement Since JulEYE’s hazy musical atmospheres. After October’s Full Moon Stream cooperation between Since JulEYE and Lightbrush, the new video promises a bright future for the two creative entrepreneurs.
