Venessa Michaels‘ “2090” genre combines dance music with Y2K-inspired hip-hop and pop. The gay producer/DJ is ready to showcase her talents.
After working with J.Worra, Lil Texas, and Kaleena Zanders, touring with NIKI, Raury, 6lack, Party Favor, and Krewella, performing at Coachella, Splash House, and Camp Flog Gnaw, and writing the theme song for the DreamWorks Netflix show KIPO and the Age of Wonderbeasts, Venessa Michaels is gearing up for her debut LP, Sent From Saturn, out Friday, January 27.
Sent From Saturn will explore many dance music styles. It will showcase Venessa Michaels’ diverse skills and quirky aesthetic.
“Spirit On Mine,” a collaboration with Luck and a colorful combination of 2000s R&B and future garage, was Sent From Saturn’s first single. Michaels proved his party-starting chops with “Needed U,” a breakbeat/tech-house banger.
Venessa Michaels‘ “L’amour” is a dark nightclub song that mixes subterranean energy with large stage raucousness.
“L’amour” begins with an intimate French voice piece overworldly percussive components and wind instrument recordings. It then steadily rises with a backing voice chop and a rising, sinister synth melody before dropping into a dancefloor-igniting centre section with scorching house beats and punishing bass synth layers.
“L’amour,” a dark nightclub banger, previews Sent From Saturn. The music promises genre-blending, dance-fueled epics with futuristic synths and irresistible beats.
