It’s been longer than your average since Pure NRG graced us with a single. In fact you’d need to cast back as far as the early months of summer 2017 to find the pair’s ‘Cala Blanca’ release. In their three-year/now-eight-track history, the group’s titles have always come with a certain enigmatic presence (‘Secret Of The Sahara’, ‘Era’, ‘Midnight Blue’, ‘Scarlett’ – you know what we’re saying!). Solarstone & Giuseppe Ottaviani’s latest enrapturer is no exception. Like a moth to the clubfloor flame, here comes ‘Chrysalis’.

As ever ‘Chrysalis’ sports the very finest of its respective producers’ dual sonic genetics. Riding on a base of bass & indomitable drum, it’s further hastened by an edged sub-melody and its no-prisoners pacing. Sky-bound from the off, it takes Pure NRG’s application of some cooler, more coursing sub-melodies to bring it equilibrium.

Break-side, it dials down the dynamism, drawing in zephyr-ish harmonies, which channel greater-yet texture to its mix. As sure as every chrysalis opens though, its chiming mainline rises, finally exalting in that elevating ‘butterfly’ effect.
