Global techno pioneer Carl Cox is returning to India with a three city arena tour in January 2026. Sunburn Arena has confirmed Delhi NCR on 16 January at A DOT by GNH in Gurugram and Mumbai on 17 January at DOME, SVP Stadium, followed by a closing set on 18 January at The Lalit Lawns in Bengaluru, promoted by District.

Cox remains one of the most influential names in techno. His early role in the acid house movement in London changed the direction of club culture in the late 80s. After the success of his track “I Want You” in the UK charts, he continued to work inside the underground scene instead of moving toward commercial trends. Over the years he has shared the stage with artists including The Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Laurent Garnier, Adam Beyer, Eric Prydz and Nina Kraviz. His albums and Intec Digital label helped define the sound of modern techno.

His 15 year residency at Space Ibiza remains one of the most important chapters in dance music. It started as a short run and eventually grew into a full season that sold out night after night. Cox went on to headline major festivals such as Tomorrowland, Ultra and Coachella. He has also performed landmark shows at Stonehenge, the Pyramids of Cairo and Berlin Love Parade in front of more than a million people. In 2024 he received DJ Mag’s Outstanding Contribution Award after 30 years in the Top 100 list.

Speaking about his return to India, Cox said the country offers a unique energy on the dancefloor and that he aims to bring a set that reflects the past and future of techno. Sunburn CEO Karan Singh described the tour as a strong start to 2026 and said Cox continues to shape global dance culture every time he performs.

India’s dance music market has grown quickly in recent years. Sunburn Arena has played a central role in introducing international acts to a wider audience and building a dedicated community around techno in the country. The upcoming tour marks another milestone for the scene and signals the scale of events planned for 2026.
