Indo Warehouse and Rashmeet Kaur have teamed up for “Chor,” a haunting new release that blends underground electronic music with Punjabi folk emotion and Sufi-inspired storytelling. Built around hypnotic percussion and atmospheric production, the track creates an immersive listening experience that feels both intimate and cinematic. The title “Chor,” meaning thief, draws from an original story created by Indo Warehouse around a stolen page from an ancient raag manuscript during monsoon season. Rather than treating Rashmeet Kaur’s vocals as a feature, the song was developed collaboratively, allowing the storytelling and production to evolve together naturally. The result is a darker and more emotionally layered sound that pushes both artists into fresh creative territory.
What makes “Chor” stand out is the larger creative world surrounding it. The release marks the first chapter in an interconnected narrative universe imagined by Indo Warehouse, where music, visuals, and live experiences all flow from original stories. The narrative follows Sahar, a young woman who secretly steals and sings from a forbidden raag manuscript, adding a mythological depth that gives the project a strong cinematic identity.
Since launching in New York in 2022, Indo Warehouse has become one of the most exciting names in South Asian electronic music by blending deep house, melodic techno, and regional instrumentation into their signature “Indo House” sound. With “Chor,” the collective continues to push boundaries while showing how traditional South Asian storytelling and modern underground dance music can exist together in a bold and contemporary way.
