Ned Shepard and Sultan have been making the world dance to their tunes for 12 years now. It all kicked off when Ned came up to Sultan at one of his concerts and gave him demo of his work. There has been no looking back ever since. Sultan and Ned were resident DJ’s at XS Café Bar until last year. They are all set to electrify the crowds with their upcoming releases.

India loves Sultan &; Ned Shepard way too much. They tour India every year and India is always ready to welcome them with house-packed crowd and crazy fans. And this year too they toured India and awesome guys at SUBMERGE MUSIC gave us a chance to interview them during their ‘2015 India Tour.’ So we tried to dig deeper into their lives and career to know more about them.

How did you guys meet?

Sultan + Ned Shepard – It was about 12 years ago, Ned came up to me at my show. He handed me a demo CD. I went through it that night. I listened to it, loved it and next morning I called him, told him I love your shit, lets meet up, became friends and started making music together.

Any upcoming releases?

Sultan + Ned Shepard – Yeah we have a song coming up called ‘Make Things Right’ coming out under Spinnin Records label releasing on March 13th. There are a few other things in the pipeline too. We are coming up with a song with Nadia Ali, one record with Hook N Sling amongst others.

You have worked with Nadia before? How’s it working with Nadia Ali?

Sultan + Ned Shepard –She’s like our sister. We all live together now in LA and we see each other all the time.

You’re among the few handpicked elite DJ’s who have residency in XS Nightclub, Las Vegas. Tell us something about it.

Sultan + Ned Shepard –We’re not playing residency at XS this year. We loved XS last year, still it’s the Vegas residency. Yeah it’s amazing and we love it! We played like almost 18 shows a year there and it’s like our second home.

Could you please share some interesting facts or any funny memories from 11 city ‘Road to Ultra Bus Tour’ with Fedde Le Grand in 2013?

Sultan + Ned Shepard –(Laughs)Yes. Our bus broke down in Texas, we rented a car and drove it to the gig. And then the bus driver came to the last party along with us in Houston and he got so wasted that he passed out, puking on the ground. It was very funny. Epic!

Beatport tagged you as the Kings of progressive scene. The high quality studio output that Sultan & Ned Shepard produces, only few have managed to pull off something like that consistently. What’s the driving force behind you for this?

Sultan + Ned Shepard – We just love to make music you know that’s what we are good at! We push ourselves to do better than what we did previously. We are constantly inspired by listening to good music by other legendary artists. We work in studio every day from noon to midnight, that’s what we do!

Ned do you have any belief or quote like Sultan’s “Life works in mysterious ways, one minute you are doing one thing. One next decision later, the whole path of your life is redrawn.” Anything like that?

Ned – (laughs) for me, it’s more like this moment is the most important thing. Just appreciate life and celebrate it.
