Drew Taggart and Alex Pall make up “The Chainsmokers “that has risen to popularity in the last year. 2016 marks their first AMA nomination, and they scored a total of four nominations, tying with many other international stars. They were nominated for new artist of the year, collaboration of the year, favorite duo or group — pop/rock and favorite artist — electronic dance music.They were nominated for  artists have been nominated for 4 different awards, including Favorite Electronic Dance Music Artist, New Artist of the Year, Collaboration of the Year (for “Don’t Let Me Down” with Daya) and Favorite Duo or Group.

  
The duo appeared at the American Music Awards t and despite going up against tough competition like Major Lazer and Calvin Harris, they emerged victorious, taking home the honor for “Favorite Artist – Electronic Dance Music.” Also they performed “Closer” with Halsey and special guest drummer Travis Barker of Blink-182. Also the star duo delivered a surprised speech thanking their team and fans, as well as the American Music Awards .
