We caught up with Tujamo and Danny Avila at their recent performance at ADE Mumbai 2017!

EDMLI: Hey Danny, How does it feel to come to India after the unfortunate cancellation of your performance at Sunburn Festival, Goa due to some technical issues?
Danny Avila: Well, first of all after that incident that happened at my first show, I was really really very sad because that wasn’t my fault. And some people blamed it on me. And I was really very excited about playing here, so I was very upset and I was looking forward to come here from a very long time. And finally been able to come here for ADE and playing the show tonight with Tujamo at Kitty Su, its great to be back! I love India, great vibe here so, its just awesome!

EDMLI: Your recent collaboration with Tujamo called ‘The Cream’ has the highest plays on Spotify. So how did you guys came up with this track?
Tujamo: Danny showed me the idea of “The Cream” and we both played in Germany and we were like texting “Are You In Germany?” I said, “Yeah!, I’m in Germany.” and we sent our locations to each other on Whatsapp and we just met at like one gas station, Danny just played that and said that “I have an idea!” and I was like ‘Wow! Your idea is great but lets change the drum, I can help you.” But then finally we decided to do it together, because I sent him something and Yeah we came up with “The Cream”.

EDMLI: So any new music EP or collaborations coming up from You and Danny?
Tujamo: We both are working hard right now & I don’t know if their’s another collab. Just making good music, that’s the topic.
Danny Avila: Their will be one! I think the stuff we’re doing now,  we’re collaborating with a lot of people, the music direction which I’m taking is little bit vocal friendly and stuff like that and collaborating with lot of song writers and lots of vocalists, singers not just like making a collab with another DJ/Producer.

EDMLI: How do you keep the vibe and energy in your DJ sets? Do you prepare the track list before your performances?
Danny Avila: Ahh, for me well I don’t prepare them, a lot of people prepare them before they gonna play. I’m really bad at it, it’s because I’m lazy to prepare my sets. I do work a lot on the music edits and stuff like that.
Tujamo: I actually like to prepare my sets before performing because almost every single track I play, when their’s something inside what I don’t like is been cut off, because I don’t need it in my sets, I think its not cool. That’s all I do, a lot of bootlegs, remixes because they make your sets a little bit more unique. A lot of guys playing a lot of same sets, especially when you’re playing a big festival, you need something really unique which makes it more interesting for the crowd.

EDMLI: We just heard your guest mix for our radio show “Rave Radio” and it all started with a future bass track, so do you have any future bass track coming or you just like to put it in your mixes?
Danny Avila: Ahhmm, well before I said that music that I’m making now is kinda different everything I’ve done. It is more vocal friendly as their is still more collab records in between. I’m having a track with NERVO, I don’t know if I can say that it is a collab (laughs) but we made a track together, they made the vocals for it. The track is a bit bassy featured kind of stuff. And you do what is right, which feels right at that moment.

EDMLI: Who’s your inspiration & how did you get inspired & how did you get into dance music? How does it feel being in Top 100 DJ’s at such a young age?
Danny Avila: Umm, it feels great and the age doesn’t matter! I just think its a great experience when you travel the world, when you’re young it teaches you a lot of right things about life in general but doesn’t really matter you’re 30 or 18. You’ve to prove yourself all the time.

EDMLI: About your track ‘BOOM’, it’s different from the signature Tujamo style. How did you come up with that?
Tujamo: Actually, I just wanted to do something different. I always want to step up the game. It’s also boring for me to do the same shit in the studio and also for the people who listen to my music. So I always try to do something new. I always have to do so I came up with ‘BOOM’. Actually it was a tool for my sets in summer and I made it and sent it to my management. And they liked it, so I released it, quickshot!

EDMLI: What are your plans for 2017? We haven’t heard any Tujamo collaboration with another artist, do you like to make music alone?
Tujamo: Actually making good music is the topic for 2017. Ahh there are a couple of collabs coming. I did two collaborations already, they’re already in the pipeline, those are not confirmed yet. But they are very important for me.

EDMLI: Thank You so much! We hope you have an amazing time out here in India! 🙂
Tujamo & Danny Avila: Thank You guys! It was so much talking to you guys!
