Anish Sood has been one of India`s leading DJ`s for quite sometime now.Anish Sood is one of India’s finest DJ/Producer who has performed alongside  David Guetta, Dmitri Vegas & Like Mike, Steve Aoki, Afrojack and Axwell to name a few .We all know he took a few months off and went to Los Angeles earlier this year. Now ,Since he is back in India and on tour now ,we got an opportunity to have a little chat with him.

Q1.The festival season is finally here, what all have you planned for this festive season?

Anish :Yes! I kicked off the festival season last weekend at Sunburn Arena with KSHMR and the next festival I’m playing is It’s The Ship in Singapore. I also have NH7 Express lined up later this year as well as Sunburn Festival in Pune.

Q2.You’re releasing your debut album next year, please tell us a little more on that? How does it feel to be able to deliver an entire album? Tell us how you came up with the name ‘Future Perfect’?

Anish : It feels pretty incredible! Writing a full length album is something I’ve always dreamed of since I first started producing music and it’s quite surreal to see it finally come through. The album draws heavily from my teenage years when I was listening to a lot of jazz, rock and pop. When I decided it was finally time to write an album I wanted a fresh unique sound and exceptional song writing. The name ‘Future Perfect’ represents what my vision of the future of electronic music is – hybrid and organic.

Q3.How hard it is to find the amount of creativity to compile an entire album? You started out just as a DJ, but to make a move as a producer and do an entire album must have been challenging as an artist?

Anish :Yup it’s definitely very time consuming and I often found myself sitting in the studio with absolutely no desire to produce. But what I found most interesting while working on a full album is that I could quickly switch between tracks when I was bored of one of them so that kinda kept things fresh.

Q4.How was your experience working with different artists like Zach Sorgen & TRISHES on this album?

Anish :The first thing that struck me when I started working in the studio with them is how professional and committed they all are. Some of the tracks took barely two hours to finish and that’s exactly how I like to work as well, if the writing process drags on for too long it’s going to sound like a forced product.  Zach is a very gifted songwriter with a great voice and has already put out a couple of big records with Slander and Bobby Puma. The first thing I noticed about TRISHES was the depth of her writing and vocal range. She sounds very Lana Del Ray-esque and her live set involves very cool live looping as well.

Q5.The album involves genres like pop & funk apart from house and techno. How hard was it to produce pop music as it must be an alienated space for you?

Anish : Actually not hard at all. While some of the tracks might lean towards the pop and techno landscape they still retain a quintessential ‘house’ sound that has been my signature and every track is an extension of my sound. Working with very talented writers also definitely helped since they really helped me craft the vision for the tracks.

Q6.You moved out to LA to focus on producing music for this album, how hard was it to be away from home?

Anish : Not too hard actually, LA is amazing, I’d go back in a heartbeat haha!

Q7.You haven’t toured much recently, does that directly link up to you concentrating more on working on this album, or are there other reasons involved?

Anish : Yes, touring has been slow since I genuinely needed time to finish the album. Unfortunately, I cannot produce on the road and really needed to devote time in the studio to make sure we met our deadlines.

Q8.The festive season has just started, where can we see you play tracks from the album? Are you looking to do a separate tour to promote the album?

Anish:Yes, I’m definitely going to be dropping a few tracks from the album in my sets. I’m also working on a brand new audio visual show for 2018 and we hope to tie that in with the album launch tour.

The album is set to release in February 2018. It feels good to witness the top artists in the EDM scene here in India work hard on music production and showcase their creativity.
