2017 was a great great year for Trance music and also for The Trance Legend Mr Armin van Buuren, the most hardworking and hardcore touring person in the Trance industry. Almost every weekend in the year he is out for performing then coming back to Amsterdam for recording his weekly radio show “A State of Trance“, compiling yearly “A State of Trance” compilation, followed by “A State of Trance” tour, then his residency at HI Ibiza, compilation on Ibiza, this year he performed first time b2b with Hardwell, mixing Yearmix, producing with “Benno de Goeij” as GAIA and also producing himself as Armin van Buuren, taking piano lessons and what not (phew), isn’t it too too much, but yeah this is the success mantra for him.
Many of the highlights from him in 2017 was including acts like “The Best of Armin Only“, hosting ASOT stage for the very first time at “Tomorrowland“, debut at “Dreamstate“, performing at The Pyramids of Ghiza for “Future Sound of Egypt” 500 celebrations and many many more.
The man who completely changed and revolutionised Trance music industry with his concepts, ideas and music is really unstoppable.
He recently performed at “Enchanted Valley Carnival” for the very first time which was a major success and highlight of the year, Team EDMLI got a chance to get personal with the trance legend and to know more about him.
EDMLI – Recently in one of your VLOGS we came to know about the real meaning of your ASOT logo, its like breaking a circle, what circle you are trying to break?
Armin van Buuren – Ah (sighs), its the circle of life, opportunities, boundaries whatever comes in your way which is blocking you and your limits, to think out of the box and really define your own way by breaking traditional ways.
EDMLI – What are the plans for ASOT1000, party on planet Mars or Moon may be 😉
Armin van Buuren – (Laughs) Yeah may be, why not. We do have something really special and big plans for 1000 though, its in 3 years but yeah we are still in planning, but before that we do have 850 next year and yes lots of surprises coming in. (Two of them he revealed during the broadcast of last week’s ASOT845)
- Another area announced for A State of Trance 850 Utrecht which is completely dedicated to the Progressive sounds and it means now we have 5 Areas for ASOT850.
- After Utrecht and Poland, for ASOT850 Tour next year, he announced Australia as one of the location after the celebrations of Episode 500 and 700 respectively.
EDMLI – What exactly has ASOT 850 in store for us?
Armin van Buuren – Well, return of the ASOT tour with artists, much demanding warm up sets and some more surprises (laughs).
