VH1 Supersonic 2018 definitely showed us that India is at par with any other country as far as festival experiences go. Everything about the festival was mind blowing. Be it the amazing decoration of the beautiful venue in Pune or the diversely spread lineup or the super friendly crew or the pyro, the stages. Each and every component oozed perfection. If we had to rate the festival on it’s experience, it would be hard to take any points away from Supersonic. If you were there at the festival, you’d know yourself. You could keep thinking for hours about any drawback of the festival at all and still not be able to pinpoint one.

The SuperCrew ensured that the attendees wold be impressed by how they decorated the venue as soon as they entered it. The venue looked so beautiful, they made you wanna explore it despite the fact that there were brilliant artists doing their thing. The yummy food court, flea markets, gaming area looked so clean and fresh. This year VH1 Supersonic was going to make a transition to a proper multi-genre festival. They have now added a whole new dimension to the festival.

Coming to the daywise performances, Day 1 was headlined by Major Lazer. They made sure they got the crowd rolling as soon as they got on stage. They even donned the Indian Cricket team jersey during their performance. Dillon Francis also did an amazing job at warming up the crowd before the headliners. His return to India was indeed a very successful one. Other notable performances on Day 1 came from Nucleya, Alt-J, The Adana Twins to name a few. This brought an end to Day 1 with the crowd leaving the venue being satisfied with the experience but definitely hungry for much more.

Day 2 was also the kickoff to the weekend which meant that crowds ensured they got in early. The ones who did, would’ve loved it because ONE&ONE kicked off on the mainstage perfectly. Marshmello headlined day 2 and he set the stage on fire. Ghastly & Ookay also played amazing sets on the mainstage. Joseph Capriati closed the Awakenings stage which was one of the highlights on Day 2. He got the crowd headbanging for sure. Madboy Mink made their fans go wild on the Live stage. This brought an end to Day 2 of VH1 Supersonic.

The final day being a Sunday expected to attract the highest crowd. Day 3 was all about high expectations from legends like Sean Paul, Incubus & Seven Lions. It was now time to set the Temperatures high with Sean Paul. Sean showed his range as a performer, he treated the fans with all his big hits & also rapped freestyle at some point. Earlier, one of India’s leading rock bands, Aswekeepsearching fired on all cylinders. Incubus grabbed the limelight on the Live Arena later in the evening. Seven lions had to be our favourite from the lineup, performing on the mainstage & then going b2b with Jason Ross for 30 minutes on the Laboratoire stage.

This brought us to the only disappointing aspect of VH1 Supersonic 2018, that it had to end. One could make out that they left the crowd wanting more. But sadly, all good things do come to an end.

For those who missed out this year, they are most likely to return to the same venue at around the same time next year. We’d highly recommend that you guys do not repeat the same mistake the second time around.
