We got a very amazing opportunity to chat with the trio, check it out below:

1. So guys, how has been 2018 so far what were the highlights of the past few months?
FPB: We’ve had a great 2018 so far with many highlights already. Getting back to the US was great fun playing packed shows in LA & Seattle as well as some exciting releases already on Spinnin and Smash The House. We’re looking forward to an amazing summer as well with releases on Maxximize, Smash The House and our new label CMMD as well as some great shows in India, Ibiza, Taiwan, China and Thailand.

2. How did you guys came together I mean what was the thing that propelled Luke, Rhys, Fran to team up for the project ” Futuristic Polar Bears”, is there any specific story?LUKE: Myself and Fran had been working on a number of projects together since 2005 and at the start of 2010 we wanted to start something fresh. We took a long time to plan it and whilst at a show in Wales we met Rhys who was picking us from the hotel and taking us to the club. We instantly got on and he started playing us some of his own music that we were blown away by. A week later Fran called him up, asked if he wanted to become a polar bear, sold him the dream and the rest is history. 7 years on and it’s been an incredibly journey of highs and lows and the best is still to come!

3. You guys are all set to launch your own imprint CMMD Records in July, what can we expect from the record label?

FPB: We wanted to start our own imprint to release music we wanted to make and play without any boundaries of guidelines. We have some exciting music lined up for it with some very talented friends collabing with us as well. It all kicks off 27th July and we are so excited!

4. You’ve collaborated with a number of artists, in which collaboration you had the most fun in the production process?

FPB: We love working on all our collabs and have learnt so much over the years. It’s always fun to work with Ruben and Steve from Wolfpack, these guys have become good friends over the past couple of years and it’s so much fun when we get together. We have 2 new weapons finished with them that we can’t wait for you all to hear.

5. You’ve toured India previously, what are your favorite things about the country?

FPB: We absolutely love the culture and vibe of India, It’s such an incredible place. Best thing has to the food though and if you ever get the chance to visit the city of Indore make sure you visit the O2 café for some of the owners famous butter chicken. It’s the best in the world!

6. What does the trio do when they don’t have any gigs lined up, what are your hobbies?

Fran: I’m really into fitness and the gym as well as being a trained life coach so that keeps me busy when I’m not on the road.

Luke: I’m a football fan and support Blackburn Rovers so that keeps me busy watching them, I’m also a big boxing and Formula 1 fan so if you don’t see me at the football I’ll be at the boxing or taking in a race!

Rhys: I’m too a big football fan supporting Swansea. I’m also into MMA and follow Connor Mcgregor.

7. You guys recently dropped your collaboration Running Wild with Yves V, how did you guys teamed up I mean what was the instance?

FPB: We’ve known Yves for a few years now and he’s a such a cool guy! We actually started working on ideas back in 2016 and spent a couple of years road testing different ideas before we decided on this one! The 1st time we playing this demo was back in January in the States and the whole club went nuts when we dropped so we knew we were onto a winner!

8. How do you decide which tracks are to be played, how do you read the crowd?

FPB: It just comes from years of experience and all 3 of us have a vast knowledge of music and experience in the booth. At festivals we like to go a little tougher and push new music, in the clubs we like to play some of our hits and it’s all about creating a fun party vibe.

9. What are your views on the current dance music scenario?

FPB: We think music is in an interesting position at the minute, its reaching every corner of the globe and there’s more festivals &and clubs than ever before! The Swedes getting back together will help the progressive and big room scene as they were the original pioneers of it!

10. What can we expect from Futuristic Polar Bears in 2018?

FPB: We have so much new music to come this year on our new label CMMD as well as music forthcoming on Smash The House, Maxximize&Spinnin. We’re looking forward to a busy summer season on tour on top of finishing some really exciting collabs that we can’t wait to share with you all.
