Kygo has achieved almost everything there is to achieve in dance music’s world. His massive fan base has been begging the artist to go for his very own imprint and promote his kinda music. Well, the wait is over now. Announced on Thursday, Sony Music Entertainment has entered into a “ worldwide talent development partnership “ with producer/DJ Kygo and his manager Myles Shear.

The label is named ‘ Palm Tree Records ‘ which goes perfectly with Kygo’s Tropical House genre. Through this, The two ( Kygo and Shear ) are strategising on broadening their venture and develop a system to promote and produce new music/artists. The two have also launched an artist-management company recently.

Talking to Variety, Kygo explained how it all came through :

“I’ve always been very fond of working with talented, undiscovered artists in my own releases. It’s been an amazing process to watch these artists grow and now I’m able to help projects I love by offering a label and management service with an incredible team.”

Having Sony’s resources ensures every artist signed will have top-tier opportunities. Kygo and Shear have worked with the company for five years.

“We are thrilled to be expanding our successful relationship with Kygo and Myles,” Sony Music CEO Rob Stringer is quoted. “Kygo is one of the most forward-thinking and exciting artists in music today, and Myles is among the most innovative, creative artist developers around. This feels like a natural extension of our partnership as we develop together the musical output of Palm Tree Records.”

“We couldn’t be more excited to be growing our relationship with Rob Stringer and all the great people in the Sony Music family through this new partnership,” Shear is quoted. “As a manager, it’s a thrill to be realizing this vision with the partner who I’ve created everything with up to this point.”

We wish Kygo all the luck in the world for this new journey as we await the first release on Palm Tree Records.
