Brent could walk into a room and it would lit up like someone had just taken the shades off the windows. Avicii, could do the same, only to an arena to thousands of fans. We played Avicii’s “Hey Brother” when we buried Brent after he took his own life. Hearing that song, as with many of Avicii’s masterpieces, will always brings a swell of emotion and memories to us all. The artist, Tim Bergling, whom we all know as Avicii, also took his own life April 20th of this year, and it rocked the EDM world. We all lost an amazing soul that day, just as we lost an amazing soul in Brent few years prior. Tim’s songs help us heal from that loss and his songs have helped many of us to heal from, and rejoice in, and celebrate life. We didn’t know Tim personally, but as music lovers we know this; if we’ve felt his music, then we know the man himself. All art is an expression of an artists most inner self. His work left its mark on the world, and the film that memorialized his life is now qualified for Oscar consideration! “Avicii: True Stories” chronicles the rise of fulfillment his music brought to us, the void it left when he took a break, and its replenishment with his reemergence.

If you were lucky enough to catch this film during its short lived showing on Netflix from April 2, 2018 until the day of Avicii’s untimely demise you’ll understand why it should be considered and ultimately nominated for an Oscar. Director and producer Levan Tsikurishvili’s film takes us on a personal, behind-the-scenes journey of Tim’s rise to stardom; the battles Avicii faced coming to terms with his fame, and the drivers behind his ultimate retirement from touring. Levan made the special announcement, along with a heart-felt and bittersweet message on Instagram earlier today.

Avicii:True Stories has Qualified for Oscars Consideration. ❗️

This documentary hasn’t left a single person emotionally untouched and even if some memories are very painful for me to watch, I’m very proud and thankful that we did it.

Importance of looking out for one another has never been more important than NOW, and I DO hope that we’ve changed SOMETHING to the better in this industry, especially for the younger generation.

The Documentary will be available in theatres at the Cinema Village in New York and at the Laemmle Music Hall in Los Angeles in December!

Thanks, EVERYONE again for all the support.
