GRiZ brought his A-Game to two new releases and it feels like Christmas came early to our ears! These two new compositions are full of energy and classic GRiZ sax riffs that make smooth sound more exciting than it should. Marvin Gaye’s voice should be jealous of these sensuous vibes emanating from the end of that brass horn.  GRiZ (aka Grant Richard Kwiecinski) hasn’t released any works in the last year or so, but the wait was well worth it! We can’t wait to see if this unique and talented producer, DJ, and saxophonist has more in store for us.

“It Gets Better”, in collaboration with DRAM, is an uplifting tune with swervy lyrics that hark back to GRiZ’s Motown heritage.  The drums pulse and keep the energy moving forward, while the clean horns and natural instrumentation provide all the emotive feedback without overpowering the powerful lyrics. Its unique when an artist can build tension and excitement while also imbuing a sense of calm. GRiZ can do it all, and more. “Can’t Get Enough” goes straight for the “gut” with the open. The funky bass lines and synth growls let you know this ones gonna be a slightly different journey through the soundscape. The funk vibe and vocalization is offset by the dubstep-inspired single note micro-melodies. This songs will make you want to get your dance on. It might even leave you begging for more. GRiZ would never do that to us, would he? Guess you’ll have to listen and let us know. 😉
