From longtime, the Swedish online music streaming giant Spotify is setting things to get its service started in  India. Back in February this year, Spotify reportedly opened its office in India. According to a number of sources, it is almost confirmed that within a short span of time Spotify will be starting its services in India. Undoubtedly, India is one of the fastest-growing music markets. Although, Spotify is the largest paid streaming service globally, it is largely limited to three regions: North America, Latin America and Europe, it will be offering its services to country of 1.3 billion people India with this expansion. Spotify will be have a number of contenders such as Amazon Prime Music, Saavn, Apple Music, Google Play Music, and Hungama in India.

Earlier this year Spotify CEO Daniel Ek had first announced plans to enter the India market in March but unfortunately due to some issues it couldn’t happen. There are already a number of online music streaming service providers and platforms in India which have already dominated the market. It will interesting to see how the giant which has already 83 million paying subscribers as of June this year across the globe will perform in India. According to Economic Times, Spotify is in the final stages of launch and has almost completed its talks with T-Series, Times Music, Eros Music and Zee Music .
