If you’re into beach festivals and wanting to spend your New Years Eve somewhere in Asia, Epizode Festival is the best way to spend your New Years. The festival takes place in an island south of Vietnam named Phu Quoc. The recent 3rd edition was held on the 28th of December 2018 until 8th January 2019. This festival is unlike another festival you’ve been to-with 11 days of music (yes, I’m not joking, ELEVEN!) – round the clock 24 hours a day. Acts are ranging from techno giants, Seth Troxler, Nina Kraviz to trance pioneer, Ferry Corsten. Acts in other genres include house, drum and bass, underground music like breakbeats were split throughout 4 stages in 11 days.

The acts set to perform their sets for sunrises and sunsets seemed to have been picked with much thought by the organizers. The music and atmosphere were paired so well together-creating an unbelievable festival experience. Several Boiler Room sets were broadcasted live from the festival. Sets of Apollonia, Dana Ruh, Alci Minimal, James Mc Hale were broadcasted and are now posted online by Boiler Room.

Additionally, day time activities like yoga, frisbee, volleyball, water guns battles, and Holi festival-like session-with colored powders thrown all around were held according to the set day timetables.

Also noting that during this edition, when the festival ended, the festival kept one stage open in the festival grounds with selected DJs like waFF, to keep the music going until 7 am the following day. I was pleasantly surprised that actually happened. There really isn’t any other festival that does this. My experience with this festival has been none other than being absolutely fantastic.

If this festival has caught your interest, I’d totally encourage you to get your beachwear and keep your New Years dates booked for this incredible festival. The early bird tickets are already now on sale at €99 euros for the 11-day pass.
