Last weekend, Dutch DJ and producer Armin van Buuren celebrated 900 episodes of his world-renowned radio show A State Of Trance. The undeniable king of trance returned to Utrecht’s Jaarbeurs for the annual milestone celebration and brought over 30 of the greatest talents and rising stars. Over 35,000 trance lovers from more than 100 countries attended the record-breaking event while 12 million more tuned in online. The tickets for ASOT 900 Celebrations in Utrecht were completely sold out 7 weeks before the event itself. During the press conference and live radio broadcast, Armin van Buuren revealed a new addition to the ASOT900 world tour. The United States will be hosting not one but two ASOT events this year, with the latest addition coming to the West Coast in the Bay Area on June 29th.

The man himself kicked off the night on the main stage with one of three performances for the night. Following the exclusive vinyl warm-up, Armada resident Estiva and legendary duo Cosmic Gate, took to the stage to showcase their talents. For the first time in seven years, English trio Above & Beyond returned to the ASOT stage, bringing their common ground across the pond and filling out the entire hall. After a mind-blowing set over at the Who’s Afraid of 138 stage, Armin van Buuren returned to the main stage for a 90 minute spectacular, lifting each and every person higher.

Israeli psytrance duo Vini Vici followed with an incredibly deep and fast set filled with everyone’s favorites; including Free Tibet and Great Spirit, as well as brand new releases and remixes. Dutch-born Australian DJ MaRLo carried out the 4-5am slot perfectly with a rare and exclusive tech-energy set. The perfect combination of hard trance, techno, and hardstyle, complemented by stunning visuals and light shows, was the perfect break from the traditional main stage trance sounds; and was easily one of the most impressive sets of the night! Finally, Ben Gold and Omnia closed out the event with the world premiere of their brand new collaboration FUTURECODE. Showcasing their individual talents, as well as exhibiting six brand new tracks as a duo, the two perfectly closed out the record-breaking event.

With all of the biggest and best names in the trance world together under one roof, and a jaw-dropping visual production to match, the annual milestone celebration of A State Of Trance was definitely one for the record books. The ASOT900 world tour will continue next weekend in Madrid, Spain; before heading over to the USA for Ultra Music Festival in Miami.
