Jonas first rose to notability in the EDM community between 2015-2017 during which time he amassed over 30 million streams and formidable tastemaker support on records he released with respected labels Heldeep and Hexagon and subsequently was the first Norwegian to ever sign with Spinnin’ Records. Jonas Aden dominated the year 2018 with his massive release ‘I Dip You Dip’. It was at Tomorrowland 2018 that Don Diablo first heard the record in Brooks’ set on weekend one. And on discovering it was Jonas’ unreleased record, Don hit Jonas up within minutes, demanding he let him release it on his label, Hexagon. The deal was made and by weekend two Don had played it in his set on the mainstage to the over 80,000 strong crowd and countless fans watching online.

Within the first 24 hours of release, further support came from the likes of Hardwell, Oliver Heldens, Mike Williams, Alan Walker, Blasterjaxx, Afrojack, Mesto, R3hab, Firebeatz, Bingo Players, Jay Hardway, Morgan Page and many more, leading it to swifty overthrow Fisher’s seemingly unstoppable record ‘Losing It’ and take the #1 spot on 1001tracklist.com’s influential Trending Chart. Last month, the super talented DJ/Producer dropped a classy new single on Tiësto’s label Musical Freedom titled ‘Tell Me A Lie’.

Check out our interview with the young gun!

1. Hey Jonas, how’s your year been so far?

JA: It’s been great – It’s amazing to see that the time and energy I spend on giving away samples and going through my tracks on my YouTube channel are making thousands of producers happy! That makes me happy!

2. You recently dropped a dope tune called ‘Tell Me A Lie’, tell us a bit about it.

JA: The initial idea is a couple of years old actually! I worked on it together with a good friend of mine called Brooks (he’s an amazing producer) and I finally decided to finish it this year. The track also has killer vocals from Alida (she’s also from Norway)

3. As you grew up in Norway, how was the electronic music scene there back then?

JA: There’s a lot of good producers on the way, and it’s really exciting to see. During the winter it’s pitch black and cold outside, so everyone is in their bedroom producing music all day long haha!

4. So, what elements are key to a Jonas Aden track? Everyone loves that energy and the amazing vibes of your productions.

JA: Thanks a lot! I try to add something new to each track, some new elements, or some new tricks that I’ve learned along the way. As previously mentioned, I am pretty open about my production process, and I go through all of my tracks step-by-step on my YouTube channel.

5. You’ve been putting out some really crazy videos on your YouTube channel like the 1 Hour Song Challenge, making music without hearing it as well as some really important videos from a producer’s perspective like Production hacks, demos to name a few. What can your fans expect next?

JA:  I have so many crazy ideas in store haha! I want to involve the community that we’re currently creating – as an example, I just hosted a remix competition for Tell Me A Lie and got 1500 (!!) entries, which is amazing! It was so cool to see how people gave the track a new ‘side’, I’m a huge fan of involving the community!

 6. So going back to 2018, when Don Diablo dropped your tune on the mainstage in front of 80k people, how would you describe that feeling?

JA:  This is a tough one. I hadn’t been putting music out for a while, I had just been perfecting my sound, and I had no idea if people would like it. Seeing one of my favorite artists play my track, in front of so many people were insane. One of the best feelings of my career so far! Huge shout out to Don!

7. If you had a collaborate with any global star who would it be?

JA: Shah Rukh Khan would be really cool! I’m a big fan of his talks!

8. What is your favorite pastime or hobby?

JA:  I actually love to read books! And I like to keep in shape, I think that’s really important as we producers sit in front of our computers so much.

9. When are you coming to India, you have a lot of fans in the country?

JA:  I would LOVE to go to India! I’ve heard great things about the festivals, and that the vibe is amazing, Thank you!
