Australia & New Zealand’s newest festival – Festival X Rising & Festival X 2019 – enjoyed a great weekend debut surpassing expected crowd numbers in typical Melbourne fashion. I was extremely fortunate to experience the Melbourne show and was blown away by each of the super creative productions across the festival’s four stages – Pixel, Flux, Helix and Oxygen.

Frank Cotela / Onelove quoted –

“We’re thrilled to see 100,000 live music fans come together for the first annual edition of Festival X. Audiences in all states treated each other with respect and unity, looking after each other and sharing the love of live music, so we can’t thank attendees enough for joining us on this amazing journey! We’re excited to kick of Summer next year once more with a Festival X tour that will be bigger and better than ever!”

An incredible vibe the minute you walk in, with lights blazing across all stages and the resounding bass moving through your body as you continue to explore the rest of the festival. Local acts featuring Alison Wonderland, Anna Lunoe, Badrapper, Generik, Godlands, Kaz James, MaRLo, Sophiegrophy, Sunset Bros. and Thandi Phoenix delivered show-stopping performances producing nothing less than a raver’s heaven. International artists such as Lil Pump, Blueface, Murda Beatz and Trippie Redd, amazed crowds with the level of production put into their sets. Attendees were left in a state of dreamy languor after the final acts of each stage.

Richie McNeill / Hardware quoted –

“We’re incredibly proud of the shows, performances and the behavior of the crowd at each of the festivals. The response has been phenomenal across all levels and we will be expanding Festival X to two weekends and reaching further cities in Australia next year!”

Notable mentions include Armin van Buuren, Calvin Harris, Camelphat, Cosmic Gate, FutureCode (Ben Gold X Omnia), Giuseppe Ottaviani, Kölsch, MK, Nic Fanciulli, Paul Kalkbrenner, Ruben de Ronde, Steve Aoki, Tchami and Vini Vici who frequents the likes of Europe and America but making more of a home on Australian soil. Calvin Harris who has a staggering 728 million streams in Australia proved to be a big hit as he supercharged the speakers with crowds dancing the night away. Typical Melbourne weather provided short spurts of heavy rain, however, it made no effect on festival-goers still celebrating full scale and enjoying what it had to offer.

Roger Field / CEO Live Nation Australasia quoted –

“Festival X exceeded all of our expectations and we are so proud to have worked with Hardware and Onelove to deliver an incredible event. Thanks to all the fans and artists for taking part in the first ever Festival X and here’s to an even bigger year next year.”

On the whole, Hardware, Live Nation, & Onelove did an incredibly amazing job putting together one of the best festivals Australia & New Zealand have ever had.” From production to the lineup, everything was perfectly set up and organized making it a world-class event.
