By-lined ‘The Acoustic Sessions’, ‘Through My Eyes’ tells you all you need to know about its focus. We got an opportunity to have a chat with her about the release of her new album & more, check it out below:
1. Hey Christina, congratulations on the release of ‘Through My Eyes’ & your wedding. Team EDMLI wishes you & your soulmate a lifetime of love and happiness!
C: Thank you. 2019 has been a fantastic year!
2. ‘Through My Eyes’ is an acoustic treat of 12 of your recent & classic hits, so how did the idea of putting out an only acoustic LP came across your mind?
C: I have wanted to release an acoustic album for a long time. I’ve been a songwriter since I was in my early teens, had a band, been a solo artist, a DJ, and worked across several genres. 2019 seemed like the perfect time to finish the project I had envisioned.
3. Why did you name your album as ‘Through My Eyes’, what does it signify?
C: The title invites people to literally see the world, – ‘through my eyes’. It also relates back to a time when I was young! It’s an important statement for me, very sentimental.
4. Let’s go into the flashback, back in the year 2010 you teamed up with Dash Berlin for a euphoric tune ‘Jar Of Hearts’ which indeed turned out to be a smash hit and is one of the biggest anthems ever made. Can you share the story behind this collaboration?
C: When Dash approached me to collaborate with him on this cover I knew it would be amazing! We had a great time working together and I look forward to working with him again in 2020.
5. Tell us about your major highlights in 2019.
C: I was truly blessed in 2019, My major highlights would be the two listed above, my album release ‘Through My Eyes’ and my wedding. There were so many others though, winning second place in ASOTS tune of the year was also a great follow up to having won the year before. I also won an IDMA – Artist of the year I was very humbled by the recognition my music received this year.
7. You’ve toured India before, how was your experience and any memories from your performances in India which are close to your heart?
C: I love touring India and have so many great memories. I have played there so many times every time for me is incredible! India is one of my top places to perform, I can’t wait to be back in 2020.
