The Belgian techno phenomenon Amelie Lens has dominated the techno scene with her heavy & pounding productions & high energetic sets. With her devotion to DJing & techno music, she has taken her career to a whole new level. Last year in the month of March, Amelie Lens established her very own record imprint called “LENSKE”. Over the years, she has performed across a number of prominent clubs from Fabric to DC-10, at major techno gatherings such as Awakenings, Time Warp & more. With throbbing & hypnotic releases such as “Follow”, “Drift”, “In Silence” & remixes, Amelie Lens has become an unstoppable force who is dominating the world with her eclectic techno grooves.
Amelie Lens continues to dominate the techno scene with her pounding beats & smashing performances full of acid and hardcore techno tunes at the world’s major electronic music festivals and top clubs. Undoubtedly, Amelie Lens is bringing back the old acid sound from the ’90s again with her performances across the globe.
The unstoppable techno stalwart will be bringing her eclectic & hypnotic acid techno grooves to three Indian cities next week.
Here are a couple of facts which you probably didn’t know about the LENSKE boss:
1. It was the year 2005 when Amelie first listened to techno at one of Belgium’s prominent music festival ‘Dour Festival’. It was a life-changing experience for the young prodigy at that time.
2. Amelie Lens and her partner Sam launched an oatmeal company, Baerbar in the year 2015 but later they closed it as Amelie decided to focus only on music. Sam is better known by his stage name “Farrago” & has taken the techno scene by a storm with his amazing releases.
3. Amelie Lens dropped a solid debut EP called ‘Exhale” on the Italian Lyase Recordings. Her EP caught the attention of the legendary acts such as Pan-Pot, Maceo Plex & more which further propelled her career to new heights. Later on, she got signed to Pan-Pot’s imprint Second State. She also won an award for the track “Exhale” at RedBull Elektropedia Awards 2016.
4. Before getting into DJing, Amelie was working in the fashion industry which she quitted in 2014 & started performing under the name Renée (her late mother’s name). With her sets full of heavy bass minimal techno tunes she earned a residency at the Labyrinth Club in Hasselt, Belgium.
5. Amelie Lens has three beloved cats named Winter, Morris, and Frank. She loves them a lot, as you might have seen on her social media handles where she posts a lot about them.
6. Amelie Lens prepares a lot for her every performance. Right from studying the crowd before taking over the decks to researching the artists popular in the city, she does it all to make sure that she delivers an unforgettable performance.
Its been a long wait, we simply can’t wait for the Belgian geniuses to bring their top-notch & acidic techno sounds to India next week. Amelie Lens & Farrago will be making their way to India for a 3-city run from 21 February to 23 February 2020.
