The phenomenal Dutch DJ/Producer Nicky Romero has debuted his deep progressive alias ‘Monocule’ with a brand new 3-track EP via his very own Protocol Recordings. From a long time, Nicky Romero has established himself as an act who has been releasing cutting edge progressive music and has experimented with dance-pop crossover styles but now the enigmatic DJ/Producer has decided to explore the deeper, underground side of electronic music with his new moniker ‘Monocule’. Earlier, he kicked off his “Another World” live stream concept and now debuted his Monocule project, Nicky Romero has proved again his ability to evolve with the times!

Monocule (Volume 1)’s first track is “Time to Save,” produced together with Nicky’s Dutch fellow Tim van Werd and Protocol’s veteran Mosimann, has a decidedly darker vibe than the usual Protocol tracks, with growling basslines and emotive vocals by the Frenchman himself. “Close To Me” delivers cinematic melodies overtop a deep bassline and breathy lyrical overlays. At the same time, the final track, “Waiting For You” evokes memories of grooving on dark dance floors before the global pandemic.
