The American DJ and Producer, Jason Ross makes a triumphant comeback to Anjunabeats with his official remix of ARTY and Mat Zo‘s classic collaboration, ‘Rebound‘.

This remix, which is possibly one of the most memorable from Above & Beyond‘s ABGT450 set, takes us to a simpler era and brings back so many memories. The label’s 200th release, ‘Rebound‘, was a watershed moment not just for Anjunabeats, but also for the trance revolution in the early 2011s. This iconic track spawned a new age of trance music, one that has seen significant growth in terms of the variety of sounds that newer artists are bringing into their work.

Jason‘s accurate adaptation of ‘Rebound‘ feels like the appropriate comeback to the label after his previous release on the label in 2020, ‘The Accord‘. Jason knocks it out of the park with his melodic dubstep and trance-inspired sound, paying homage to the original to the fullest. The classic melody that warmed our hearts is preserved in this remix, which pairs nicely with Jason’s electrifying tempo, which includes a dub-step breakdown that no one expected in a trance-like track.

Jason‘s affection for this song is undeniable, and he expresses it in the following words,

‘Rebound’ is one of those songs that can transport me back in time, to the days where I was just becoming familiar with dance music and with Anjunabeats. If I remember correctly, this was one of those songs with the ‘trance 2.0’ label; it redefined the genre and our scene. To remix a song that means so much to me, personally, it was quite an honor and also a big responsibility. My goal was to maintain the magic that Arty and Mat Zo infused into it, while putting more of a modern approach to the sound so that this record could continue to be played in today’s clubs and festivals. It was one of the more challenging remixes I’ve done to date, but something I’m truly proud of.
