EXIT’s Montenegro chapter attracted around 150,000 people to its festivals in Ulcinj and Budva, with audiences arriving from more than 100 countries. The season opened at Long Beach in Ulcinj in July and concluded with a three-night Sea Dance finale on the beach in Budva. International visitors came from Germany, the UK, Turkey, Italy, Poland, France, the United States and countries across the Balkans.
The Montenegro events followed an agreement between EXIT and the Montenegrin Government focused on developing music tourism. Earlier estimates suggested the festivals could generate at least 210,000 overnight stays and more than €40 million in tourism revenue during 2026.
The two festivals featured artists including HUGEL, Charlotte de Witte, Boris Brejcha, Argy, DARA, John Newman, Jamie Jones, Monolink and Stephan Bodzin, alongside regional performers and Montenegro’s local music scene. EXIT’s 12-metre Ivana sculpture, featuring lighting and 3D mapping, also connected the two events visually.
Beyond the music, the United for Kids charity evening supported a rehabilitation house for children recovering from cancer treatment and a local day centre for children and young people with disabilities. EXIT also highlighted 122 local artists who performed during the Montenegro events. The festival brand will continue its international tour in Egypt this October, with its first full festival format planned at the Pyramids of Giza.
