Launching in Las Vegas in May 2027, the three-day summit will bring together artists, independent promoters, emerging creators, and industry leaders to connect, collaborate, and help shape the future of electronic music.
The global electronic music scene is getting a new meeting point. Insomniac, the force behind some of the world’s biggest dance music festivals, has teamed up with Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) to launch Map Point Summit, a new international gathering dedicated to electronic music, independent creativity, and the future of rave culture.
Making its debut in May 2027 at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, the three-day summit will take place between the two EDC Las Vegas festival weekends: Dusk (May 14–16) and Dawn (May 21–23). The initiative aims to bring together aspiring creators, independent promoters, artists, entrepreneurs, innovators, and established industry professionals from across the global electronic music community.
More than a traditional industry conference, Map Point Summit is designed to create opportunities for meaningful connections, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration, while supporting the independent spirit that helped build rave culture.

From Underground Raves to a Global Industry
The name Map Point Summit pays tribute to the early days of underground rave culture, when party locations were often kept secret. Before reaching the dance floor, ravers would meet at a designated location known as a map point, where they would receive directions to the party.
Now, that concept returns with a new purpose: helping the next generation find its place within electronic music, navigate the industry, and build lasting connections along the way.
By bringing together people at different stages of their careers, Map Point Summit aims to create a space where fresh ideas can meet industry experience, independent projects can find new opportunities, and the community can work collectively toward a more sustainable future.
Pasquale Rotella Introduces the Vision Behind Map Point Summit
Insomniac Founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella first announced Map Point Summit during his keynote conversation at the 30th edition of Amsterdam Dance Event. Titled “The Future of Rave Culture and Why It Needs Its Own Industry,” the discussion was moderated by Billboard Dance Director Katie Bain and explored the importance of the live electronic music scene, the challenges facing independent promoters, and the need for a stronger business ecosystem built around rave culture.
Rotella emphasized the importance of preserving the grassroots values that shaped the movement, while creating more opportunities for the people who continue to drive it forward.
“Rave culture was built by ravers, for ravers,” Rotella said, highlighting the community-driven foundations of the scene and the importance of protecting its identity as it continues to grow.
He also stressed the need to support independent promoters, share knowledge, and create opportunities for emerging generations to help build an industry that allows rave culture to thrive on its own terms.
For Rotella, Map Point Summit represents an opportunity to turn that vision into action by bringing together the people who make electronic music culture possible.

Insomniac and ADE Join Forces to Support the Next Generation
The partnership brings together two organisations with decades of experience in shaping electronic music culture.
For more than 30 years, Insomniac has helped define the global festival landscape through events such as Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), Beyond Wonderland, and Nocturnal Wonderland. Under Rotella’s leadership, the company has continued to expand dance music into new venues and formats while maintaining its connection to the underground ethos that inspired its beginnings.
Amsterdam Dance Event, meanwhile, has established itself as one of the world’s leading platforms for electronic music, bringing together artists, professionals, innovators, and emerging talent through its conference, festival, and educational programs.
By combining ADE’s expertise in industry education and professional development with Insomniac’s roots in rave culture and large-scale live experiences, Map Point Summit aims to bridge the gap between creative ambition and the realities of building a career in electronic music.
What to Expect at Map Point Summit 2027
The inaugural edition will feature a three-day program designed to encourage learning, collaboration, and community-building across the electronic music industry.
Planned activities include:
Industry conversations: Discussions exploring the evolution of electronic music, the challenges facing independent promoters, and the future of rave culture.
Educational sessions: Opportunities to gain practical knowledge and insights from experienced professionals.
Creative workshops: Spaces for emerging talent and established figures to exchange ideas and develop new approaches.
Networking opportunities: A chance to connect with artists, entrepreneurs, promoters, innovators, and potential collaborators from around the world.
Beyond professional development, the summit will also address a central question facing electronic music today: how can a rapidly expanding industry preserve the independence, identity, and community values that made rave culture what it is?
By encouraging conversations between different generations and perspectives, Map Point Summit aims to help build a stronger foundation for the future of the scene.
A New Meeting Point for the Future of Rave Culture
As electronic music continues to reach new audiences worldwide, the need for spaces that support the people behind the culture becomes increasingly important. Map Point Summit seeks to provide exactly that: a place where independent ideas can grow, new relationships can develop, and the next generation of industry leaders can find their direction.
Its debut in Las Vegas places the summit within the wider EDC experience, creating an opportunity for the professional and creative sides of electronic music to connect with the energy of one of dance music’s biggest festival environments.
With Insomniac and ADE joining forces, the initiative signals a shared commitment to supporting the people who shape the culture, from emerging creators and local promoters to established artists and industry pioneers.
Map Point Summit will take place in May 2027 at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, with additional programming, speakers, and ticket information to be announced in the coming months.
