Swedish music service reportedly opened its office in India, a more than a subtle hint it might soon start offering localized content.

It seems that the Swedish music service is going to soon start offering the service in India.  Spotify is available in most of Europe, most of the Americas, Australia, New Zealand, and parts of Asia. It is available for most modern devices, including Windows, macOS, and Linux computers, as well as iOS, Windows Phone and Android smartphones and tablets. According to Killer Features, Spotify opened its office last year in Mumbai as per the documents submitted to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

Spotify provides access to more than 30 million songs. As of June 2017, it had more than 140 million monthly active users and more than 70 million paying subscribers as of 4 January 2018.

Already in India, Gaana and Saavn already have an edge over the market. Spotify will face a couple of challenges as  Gaana has it’s very own original shows and songs where it also features new artists. Not only this thing but one more which is the pricing, Spotify currently has a freemium model where users can subscribe to the paid service for full access.
